The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) Supercomputing Center announced that it obtained preliminary certification as a Green Data Center on January 15, in collaboration with DEUS, a data center specialist firm led by CEO Kihoon Ryu.
This certification was awarded as part of the "2024 Green and Eco-Friendly Data Center Industry Promotion Program" organized by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA). It recognizes the successful outcome of a pilot project jointly carried out with AutoSemantics, which applied AI-based cooling energy optimization technologies to a raised-floor public data center.
The project received a final comprehensive evaluation score of 89.6 points, earning high marks for its performance and impact.
