According to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy on the 21st, the amendment to the Enforcement Decree of the Electricity Business Act, which was decided at the Cabinet meeting on the 14th, will take effect.
As the Special Act on Distributed Energy Revitalization passed the bill subcommittee of the National Assembly's Trade, Industry and Energy Small and Medium Venture Business Committee the previous day,
a legal basis for rejecting the construction of a new data center in the metropolitan area through a "system impact assessment" was also established.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy plans to establish a data center near the non-metropolitan area where power generation facilities are concentrated and
provide exceptional benefits such as partial exemption from electricity bills if electricity is absorbed locally.
